End of Winter

So I think that winter is officially over.  We had a great winter despite the extreme cold.  Here are some highlights.

We took Nero with us on a couple of sledding trips.  He loves the snow.  This week we had our 1 year anniversary of bringing Nero to live with us.  He is much bigger now, but still pretty cute.

Isaac spent some of his own money on Peeps and then sacrificed two of them in hot chocolate (one for his sister)

Last weekend we went up to Michigan and the kids had their first skiing/snowboarding lessons.  I think that Isaac is going to be a pretty good snowboarder and that Mackenzie is going to really love skiing.  Brian and I had fun skiing with them as well, even though I didn't make it off the bunny hill.

We also visited with the newest cousins last weekend.  This isn't our first visit, but this is the first time that the kids have held them (they actually only held Adriana, Gabriel was sleeping).  They are very proud cousins and Adriana was quite a trooper.

Uncle Brian even got to put her to sleep!
So I think we accomplished most of what we wanted to this winter.  Snowmen were built, mountains (okay, hills) were conquered, cousins arrived and were held, there was some ice skating and some hot chocolate drinking.  So, bring on Spring!

It has been a long time . . .

Wow, I knew that it had been a while, but I didn't realize that I hadn't posted anything this year.

I have been thinking about my dad a lot lately.  I think that it is because it is winter and there has been a lot of snow.  I remember spending a lot of time with my dad in the winter; ice fishing, snowmobiling, tobogganing and ice skating.  I spent a lot of time with my dad all year round.  My parents were very active in my activities and came to all of my games, band events, track meets, etc.  But the strongest memories are of winter activities, perhaps because I enjoyed winter so much.  Anyway, whatever the reason, I have been thinking of my dad a lot lately.

So I thought that I would go through some of my favorite pictures of him and post them today.
